World Massage Conference?
I somehow ended up on the mailing list for the World Massage Forum. I’m pretty sure I never asked for their updates, but I get them anyway and am always curious to see what’s going on in the world of massage.
I recently received an email about the World Massage Forum to be held from November 17-22, 2008. The catch? It’s a virtual conference, meaning all of the classes and seminars can be watched online from the comfort of your own home.
I’m not sure how I really feel about this. It might be great for those who can work or watch with groups to apply what they’re learning, but I really wonder how much benefit an individual can get out of an environment like that - especially over the course of 6 days.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d prefer to try techniques out as I’m learning them. Unless there are other educational classes that don’t focus on technique, I’m not sure this would be worth checking out.
What do you think? Has anyone had any past experience with the World Massage Forum?

The World Massage Forum site is an excellent resource site. Somehow I ended up on their mailing list too. I know that the World Massage Forum and World Massage Conference are two different entities entirely even though the names are similar.
I think your idea of getting together with groups to listen to sessions is a great idea. But they also have live chat available during sessions so you can interact with other therapists from various countries as sessions are going on. And like Massage Therapy Radio you can also ask the presenters questions.
Hi Jessica - Thanks for your comments. I guess the World Massage Forum was sending the info to their list because I definitely got the email from them. Sounds like an interesting event, anyway. I haven’t heard of Massage Therapy Radio. Is that online?
